Day 13: Doing Better... sort of
I still have a headache today... it's at the back of my head and and a little bit down my neck. Also, I'm feeling a little light-headed and dizzy when I stand up. I'm trying to drink a lot of water and have a lemon drink every hour or so. I just don't feel extremely hungry so it's hard to remember.
This morning it was really hard for me to wake up. I was up at 5:30 am with "the urge" and then back to bed. I probably could have slept all day, but I finally got up around 8:30 am.
I've decided to do the tea every other morning instead of the SWF every morning. I do feel a little bloated when I do the SWF.
There are pro's and con's to both the tea and the SWF.
The SWF is quick, swift, and does the job of flushing well. Also, I don't really have cramps when I do the SWF. But, the salt-water is hard to get down and makes you feel a bit nauseated.
The tea tastes good, but you have to drink a lot of water after you drink it to get a sufficient elimination. Also, the eliminations with the tea aren't fast. With the tea, I am going to the bathroom throughout the day rather than just in the morning. Also, I have cramping with the tea. I think my eliminations are more substantial with the tea though.
Anyway, so that's the plan... every-other-day tea/SWF.
I honestly have no idea how long I am going to continue this cleanse. It could be another week or just another day... I haven't made up my mind.
Paul says my tongue is looking a lot more clean and pink. There's just some coating in the middle. So that's good news!

4:28 pm
A couple hours ago Paul and I attempted to go out and run some errands. I got an overwhelming urge to "GO" so we stopped at a sandwich place and I ran in to do my thing. Some stuff came out, but not a lot. This time, the gross cramping/stomach ache feeling didn't leave like it usually does, and it was only minutes later we had to stop at ANOTHER restaurant so I could run in.
I actually told Paul (I called him from the toilet on my cell) to go to the bank without me cause it was going to be a while.
Even after my 10-15 minutes on the toilet at the restaurant, I felt horrible. The back of my head was throbbing with pain, and I was feeling really dizzy and nauseous... so, we quickly headed back home.
I layed down for a while and had another lemon drink and some water. Then I called my mom to see how she was doing, and what she thought of my situation (She is currently on day 14 and it is her last day on the cleanse).
Mom recommended I try a small glass of OJ - if it made me feel better, then maybe it was time to stop. So, I CHEATED. I had about 4 ounces of OJ. I was all ready to throw in the towel, call it quits, say adios to this cleanse... then, I decided to look in Burroughs book again.
I turned right to page 24... "Will It Make Me Feel Bad Or Weak?"
Burroughs says,
"In the cleansing process, some people experience a tremendous stirring up and may even feel worse for several days. It is not the lemonade that causes the trouble, but what the lemonade stirs up in the system that causes our dizziness and other disturbances...dizziness may develop on certain days. If weakness develops at any time, it is the result of poisons circulating through the blood stream rather than lack of food or vitamins"
So, I will go on, at least for another day or so... haha
I still have a stomach ache. It's actually worse now. Probably FROM the OJ.
**Oh, and I know I am being wishy washy, but I've NOW decided that I am going to stick with the salt-water flush each morning. The tea makes me feel terrible, and really interferes with my day.
Tea at night, SWF in the morning.

Thanks for posting this blog. It has been helpful to me in getting through my own cleanse. I am on Day 8 and it was such a rough one - yesterday I positively skated through (Day 6 had been my worst) but today I had to drive 11 hours today - 6.5 out to pick my husband up in the Sierras (he was on a weeklong hike) and 6.5 back. I packed a cooler with all my supplies but I got an altitude headache and almost lost it when my husband stopped at Burger King and ate his sandwich in the car. I was hoping to "not be hungry" by now... no dice! Hee hee. Anyways, I am finally home and nursing my peppermint tea, preparing for my SM tea to follow, and it was great to read this. I will do a minimum of 10 days but hope to do 14 and if possible, 20. This is my first cleanse.
Thanks again for the blog.
Saint,
Thank you for your comment! I'm glad my experiences are helpful to you!
Be strong, I know you can do it!! God bless.
