It's been a little over a year since I last did the lemon cleanse. I've been feeling as if I am loaded with toxins and since Paul and I are thinking of starting our family now, a good cleanse would probably be a good idea. So, last night I had my first smooth move. The journey has begun.
I now have a full-time job working at a hospital in the operating room, so this time around will be a little different. Peter Glickman mentions in his book that if you work and you are doing the cleanse, you should only make what you will need while at work, and then make fresh lemon drink when you get home. The fresher the better because minerals begin to break down the longer you let the lemon juice sit.
So, my plan is to buy some 20 ounce water bottles at the store and take 3-4 with me to work. I'll sip on them throughout the day whenever I feel hungry or whenever I get a minute to run to the breakroom and take a sip or two. This should work pretty well. Most surgeries don't last longer than 2 hours.
You may be wondering... "What are you going to do about the explosive, uncontrollable acid shits Edith?" Well, my plan is to wake up at 4:00 AM each morning, drink the salt water, and hopefully by 6:00 AM I will be flushed and ready to start my day.
From past experience I know it can take up to 2 hours sometimes for me to "release" anything that is ready to come out. Of course, this also means that I will need to go to bed a little earlier than usual - this will be an adjustment but it's doable.
This morning I drank the quart (32 ounces) of purified water/2 tsp uniodized sea salt without any problems. The last 8 ounces is always a little rough, but this time I knew what to expect. Thankfully, there was no gagging. It was about 2 hours later than I had my release. I've already had my first lemon drink and so far so good!!
I'm excited to do this again. I know it will make a difference in my health and help to prepare me better for growing a baby.
